Hon. Sajith Premadasa,— To ask the Minister of Construction, Engineering Services, Housing and Common Amenities,—(1)
(a) Is he aware that a pledge was made under the Jana Sevana Programme of “Mahinda Chinthana-Dinavamu Sri Lanka” manifesto that the housing loans and the interest relevant to housing schemes constructed under various names such as Diyawara, Diyawara Visiri, Jana Udana and Gam Udana would be written off and freehold ownership of those houses would be granted to their residents ?
(b) Will he inform this House of the number of families who have been granted freehold ownership of the houses under each of the aforesaid housing schemes separately ?
(c) If not, why ?
