Hon. Kumarasiri Rathnayaka,— To ask the Minister of Water Supply and Estate Infrastructure Development,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) of the Drinking Water Projects, of which the work has been hitherto initiated in the Monaragala district;
(ii) of the amount of money that has been allocated for each of the aforesaid projects, separately;
(iii) of the number of family units covered by each of the aforesaid projects, separately;
(iv) of the amount of work that has been hitherto completed out of each of the aforesaid water projects, as a percentage, separately; and
(v) of the date on which the work of each of the said project will be completed, separately?
(b) If not, why?

(a) (i) · Drinking water supply projects which have already been commenced by the National Water Supply and Drainage Board in Monaragala District:
1. Capacity enhancement and augmentation of existing schemes of Monaragala District.
2. Pipe laying of HDPE/DI pipes, fittings, valves, specials and accessories for Badalkumbura Water Supply Scheme.
3. Construction of the Water Treatment Unit of Badalkumbura Water Supply Scheme.
4. Hambegamuwa Water Supply Scheme.
5. Greater Monaragala Water Supply Scheme.
6. Wellawaya Water Supply Scheme - Second Stage.
7. Transmission and Distribution Expansion of Siyambalanduwa Water Supply Scheme.
· Drinking water supply projects which have already been commenced by the Department of National Community Water Supply in Monaragala District.
1. “Mithuru Water Project”, Badulugammana Grama Niladhari Division, Bibile Divisional Secretary's Division.
2. “Thirasara Community Water Project”, Morathumulla Grama Niladhari Division, Bibile Divisional Secretary's Division.
3. “Ranugalla Community Water Project”, Ranugalla Grama Niladhari Division, Buththala Divisional Secretary's Division.
4. “Praja Sisila Water Project”, Medagoda Grama Niladhari Division, Wellawaya Divisional Secretary's Division.
5. “Kotigalhela Community Water Project” Guruhela Grama Niladhari Division, Monaragala Divisional Secretary's Division.
6. “Kongolla Community Water Project”, Kongolla Grama Niladhari Division, Medagama Divisional Secretary's Division.
7. “Sisila Water Project”, Thambana Grama Niladhari Division, Medagama Divisional Secretary's Division.
8. In addition to the above-mentioned projects, in order to satisfy the drinking water requirement of the people who are suffering from chronic kidney disease in Monaragala District, five other water supply projects, which are operated through water purification systems with nanotechnology, were commenced and those projects will be handed over to the general public before the end of the year 2023.
i. Project in Buththala Base Hospital.
ii. “Kahakurullanpelessa Project”, Kahakurullanpelessa Grama Niladhari Division, Thanamalvila Divisional Secretary's Division.
iii. “Samadhi Water Project”, Bodagama Grama Niladhari Division, Thanamalvila Divisional Secretary's Division.
iv. “Sisila Water Project”, Nugegalayaya Grama Niladhari Division, Sewanagala Divisional Secretary's Division.
v. “Ekamuthu Water Project”, Habaraluwewa Grama Niladhari Division, Sewanagala Divisional Secretary's Division.
