Hon. Samanpriya Herath,— To ask the Minister of Transport and Highways,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) of the extent of lands owned by the Sri Lanka Railway Department that remain unused till now;
(ii) whether a register is maintained regarding the lands owned by that Department, located in each district;
(iii) whether the lands owned by the Department have been leased out as of now;
(iv) if so, the extent of lands leased out;
(v) whether a correct methodology has been followed in leasing out the above lands; and
(vi) of the annual tax revenue earned by leasing out the above lands?
(b) If not, why?
