Hon. Sanjeeva Edirimanna,— To ask the Minister of Public Security,—
(a) Will he inform this House whether—
(i) he admits the fact that serious crimes including murder are being committed in various parts of Sri Lanka;
(ii) the Sri Lanka Police have a proper mechanism to suppress them;
(iii) he is aware that investigations related to house robberies, which are frequently committed in Sri Lanka, are not carried out speedily;
(iv) a proper mechanism will be put in place to keep the previous Security Committees active; and
(v) an urgent program will be implemented to prevent the rapidly spreading activities of underworld groups and related killings of people?
(b) If not, why?
