Hon. T. Ranjith De Soysa,— To ask the Minister of Health,—
(a) Is he aware that—
(i) the Ranwala government hospital situated in the Weligepola Divisional Secretariat Division in Ratnapura District has faced with the threat of closure;
(ii) a shortage of doctors and other staff members exists in the aforesaid hospital; and
(iii) only one doctor serves there at present ?
(b) Will he inform this House—
(i) of the average number of patients who undergo indoor treatment and who obtain treatment from the Out Patient Department of this hospital;
(ii) of the number of doctors and other employees approved for the aforesaid hospital;
(iii) of the reasons that led to the present situation prevailing at Ranwala government hospital;
(iv) whether action will be taken to provide the required number of doctors and other staff members to the aforesaid hospital immediately;
(v) if so, the time taken for it ?
If not, why?
