Hon. (Mrs.) Rosy Senanayake,— To ask the Minister of Education,—
(a) Will he state separately in relation to each District and each year—
(i) the number of students who have obtained passes for all 8 subjects ;
(ii) the number of students who have got through the exam on the basis of medium of instruction, namely Sinhala, Tamil and English ; and
(iii) the number of students who have failed mathematics, first language, English and Science ;
out of the school candidates who sat for G.C.E (Ordinary Level) examination from the year 2005 to 2010?
(b) Will he state separately at District level, the number of teachers available for teaching Mathematics, First Language, English and Science in government schools?
(c) Will he state—
(i) the number of national schools and provincial council schools which are using English medium in addition to Sinhala medium ; and
(ii) separately the number of teachers available in the aforesaid schools to teach each of the subjects?
(d) If not, why?
