Hon. Buddhika Pathirana,— To ask the Minister of Mass Media,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether the song “Kobeyyane Warella” written by the lyricist Mrs. Prema Dabare and vocalized by Mr. Weerasena Gunathilaka has been banned from being broadcast over the radio channels of the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation;
(ii) If so, what the reasons for it are;
(iii) whether a formal inquiry had been conducted prior to the imposition of such ban;
(iv) If so, of the person who conducted the inquiry;
(v) of the date and the time the song referred to above was broadcast for the last time ever on a channel belonging to the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation; and
(vi) whether action will be taken to lift the ban shortly?
(c) If not, why?
