Hon. Sivasakthy Ananthan,— To ask the Minister of Local Government and Provincial Councils,—
(a) Is he aware that a sum of Rs. 177,180.66 has been paid by the Vavuniya Municipal Council in a fraudulent manner based on false information in respect of the alleged construction of a non-existent nursery school building in the village called Kovilkulum in Vavuniya?
(b) Will he State—
(i) who obtained the aforesaid money; and
(ii) whether steps will be taken to recover the aforesaid money from the person who perpetrated that fraudulent act?
(c) If not, why?
