Hon. Ravi Karunanayake,— To ask the Minister of Co-operatives and Internal Trade,—
(a) Will he state from July 2010 to date on per month/ per year basis—
(i) the total consumption and the per capita consumption of rice ;
(ii) the total local production and the per capita production of rice in Yala and Maha seasons separately ;
(iii) the import content of rice;
(iv) the value of the import content of rice; and
(v) the real subsidy given to rice importers and paddy growers by the government with corroborative evidence?
(b) Will he state separately—
(i) the cost of production per 1 Kg rice in Sri Lanka for the years 2010 and 2011;
(ii) the number of families involved in paddy cultivation; and
(iii) all the taxes (direct and indirect) imposed on 1 Kg of imported and locally produced rice ?
(c) If not ,why?

(ආ) (i) හෙක්ටර් කොබ්බෑකඩුව කෘෂි කාර්මික පර්යේෂණ හා පුහුණු කිරීමේ ආයතනය විසින් ලබා දී ඇති තොරතුරු අනුව, නිෂ්පාදන වියදම පහත දැක්වේ.
