Hon. (Mrs.) Rosy Senanayake,— To ask the Minister of Child Development and Women’s Affairs,—
(a) Will he state —
(i) the number of widows in Sri Lanka at present; and
(ii) the number of women who became widows as a result of the war in provinces other than the Northern and the Eastern provinces?
(b) Will he state—
(i) the steps that have been taken by the government to enhance the living standards of all the widows ; and
(ii) the amount of money that has been allocated for that purpose?
(c) If not, why?
