Hon. Rohana Dissanayaka,— To ask the Minister of Lands,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether an extent of 105 acres from the Hagarankandawatta land located in Elkaduwa, Matale has been leased out by the Land Reforms Commission to a private party within the period from 2015 to 2020;
(ii) whether the lessee has been permitted to fell and sell the varieties of trees like jack and Champak – Gini Sapu that are found in the said land;
(iii) if so, of the number of trees that have hitherto been felled and sold;
(iv) of the financial value of the said trees;
(v) if the said land has not been leased out in a proper way, of the steps that will be taken pertaining to that; and
(vi) of the reasons for not taking any action, if no action is taken in that regard?
(b) If not, why?
