610/2020 Hon. Samanpriya Herath,— To ask the Minister of Health,— Is she aware that the Kuliyapitiya Base Hospital has been converted into a Teaching Hospital? Will she inform this House — whether action will be taken to use the aforesaid hospital for the clinical training of the students of the Medical Faculty of the Wayamba University of Sri Lanka; and whether she is aware that a three-member committee has been appointed to study this matter? Will she also inform this House — whether a professorial unit has been established in connection with the Medical Faculty of the Wayamba University of Sri Lanka and the Kuliyapitiya Teaching Hospital; and whether action will be taken to establish the aforesaid professorial unit at the Kuliyapitiya Teaching Hospital? If not, why?
