Niroshan Perera,— To ask the Minister of Wildlife & Forest Conservation,— Is he aware that media have reported that a forest has been torched, cleared and destroyed in Eluwankulama area in Wanathawilluwa in the Puttalam district? Will he inform this House— the extent of land that had been so destroyed; whether these lands belong to the Government; if not, the parties to which those lands belong; whether the persons who destroyed the aforesaid forest had been identified; and the steps that have been taken against those persons? If not, why?
