456/2020 Hon. Ishak Rahuman,— To ask the Minister of Irrigation,— Is he aware that the ancient Yodha Ela (Giant Canal) which carries water from the Kalawewa reservoir to the Thisawewa reservoir, located in the district of Anuradhapura has gone into wilderness? Will he inform this House— whether any programme is available to clean and restore this canal; if so, what the said programme is; and of the date on which the said programme would be initiated? If not, why?
