Hon. Velu Kumar,— To ask the Minister of Plantation,—
(a) Is he aware that Hanthana Estate situated in Kandy District is an estate belonging to the Janatha Estate Development Board?
(b) Will he state—
(i) the number of Divisions that belonged to the aforesaid Estate at the time the state owned estates were reformed in 1992;
(ii) the names of those Divisions;
(iii) is there any Divisions that had been abandoned or closed in the aforesaid Estate by year 2015; and
(iv) if so, the extant of land of the aforesaid Divisions?
(c) Will he inform this House, separately—
(i) whether lands, the factory and other buildings belonging to the aforesaid Estate had been awarded to external/private parties during the period from 1992 to 2015; and
(ii) if so, of the details of such awarding: and
(iii) of the extent of land in the aforesaid Estate that has been cultivated and that has not been cultivated in relation to the land survey that was conducted last?
(d) If not, why?
