191/2020 Hon. Sivagnanam Shritharan,— To ask the Minister of Youth and Sports,— Is he aware that though 10 years have elapsed by now since the construction work was commenced in the year 2010 to develop public stadium situated at the centre of Killinochchi town to develop it into an International level stadium, the aforesaid stadium has not yet been delivered to the use of the sportsperson in the district? Will he inform this House— whether this stadium is an international level stadium; if not, whether it is a district level stadium; the amount allocated for the construction work of the stadium; the amount spent during the last 10 years out of the aforesaid amount; the number of contractors that have signed contracts for the construction work of the stadium; and the name of the current contractor who has undertaken contract activities? Will he also inform this House— the extent to which the delay of the reconstruction work of this stadium has affected the sports activities of the sportspersons in the district; and the steps taken by the Ministry to develop the sports field in the district? If not, why?
