05/2020 Hon. Hesha Vithanage,- To ask the Minister of Education,- (a) Will he inform this House separately, of the number of parallel classes of Grade 5 and Grade 6 of the national schools situated in the Colombo, Ratnapura, Galle, Matara, Kandy, Kurunegala, Jaffna and Gampaha districts from the years 2010 to 2018? (b) Will he also inform this House separately of ; (i) the cut-off marks of the Grade-5 scholarship examination; (ii) the number of students admitted to Grade 6 on the results of the said scholarship examination; (iii) the percentage of students admitted to Grade 6 on the results of the scholarship examination as a percentage of the total number of students admitted to Grade 6 of the above schools from the year 2010 to the year 2018? (c) Will he further inform this House separately of the number of students admitted to Grade 6 of the above schools from the year 2010 to the year 2018 from the primary sections and not on the basis of the results of the scholarship examination? (d) If not, why?
