Hon. Hesha Withanage,— To ask the Minister of Education,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) of the basic educational qualifications that are taken into consideration when the teachers are recruited to the Pirivena educational institutes;
(ii) whether there is a shortage of teachers in the Pirivena educational institutes at present;
(iii) if so, the number of teachers’ shortage; and
(iv) of the steps that have been taken to uplift the Pirivena education by the Pirivena education unit in the Ministry of Education?
(b) If not, why?
