Hon. Douglas Devananda,— To ask the Minister of City Planning, Water Supply and Higher Education,—
(a) Is he aware that—
(i) a drinking water project was launched at the expense of millions of rupees under the aid of a Non Governmental Organization with the objective of fulfilling the drinking water requirement of the people who were resettled in Valaiyankattu village in Madhu Divisional Secretariat in Mannar;
(ii) the project mentioned above has been abandoned halfway without being completed; and
(iii) the people of the aforesaid area encounter a huge difficulty in getting their drinking water requirement fulfilled?
(b) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether steps will be taken to complete the aforesaid drinking water project and fulfill the drinking water requirement of the people in Valaiyankattu village;
(ii) if so, the date on which day it will be done; and
(iii) if not, the reason for it?
(c) If not, why?
