Hon. Mahindananda Aluthgamage,— To ask the Minister of Highways & Road Development and Petroleum Resources Development,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether he is aware of the fact that a flyover has been constructed through Nawalapitiya town by the Road Development Authority under the Nawalapitiya town development project spending Rs.300 lakhs, with the aim of minimizing the traffic congestion in Nawalapitiya town;
(ii) whether he is aware of the fact that the current Urban Council of Nawalapitiya is planning to demolish and sell this public property without permission of the Road Development Authority; and
(iii) whether action will be taken to stop the demolishing of this bridge constructed by the Road Development Authority, without permission from your Ministry?
(b) If not, why?
