Hon. Ishak Rahuman,— To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Economic Affairs, Livestock Development, Irrigation and Fisheries & Aquatic Resources Development,—
(a) Is he aware that—
(i) the agricultural road in the 492 - Amunuwetiya Grama Niladhari division in the Ipalogama Divisional Secretariat division, that runs up to Alahapperumagama through the Kalawewa paddy fields, is in a very dilapidated condition;
(ii) nearly 1000 farmers use this road for their day-to-day activities and they face many difficulties in transporting their harvest along this agricultural road during the harvesting season; and
(iii) this road has not been repaired for nearly 30 years?
(b) Will he inform this House—
(i) of the reasons for not repairing this road up to now;
(ii) the measures that will be taken in this regard in future; and
(iii) whether allocations required for repairing this road would be made available?
(c) If not, why?
