Hon. Hesha Withanage,— To ask the Prime Minister and Minister of National Policies, Economic Affairs, Resettlement & Rehabilitation, Northern Province Development and Youth Affairs,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) of the number of Police Constables attached to the Department of Police in Sri Lanka who have completed 10 years of service by now;
(ii) of the methodology followed to promote officers to the rank of sergeant;
(iii) of the number of Police Constables out of the constables mentioned in (i) above who have qualified to be promoted to the rank of sergeant; and
(iv) of the steps that have been taken to grant promotions to Police Constables who have not been promoted despite being qualified for promotions?
(b) If not, why?
