Hon. Janaka Bandara Tennakoon,—To ask the Minister of Ports and Shipping,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether the 2018 budget proposal to 100% open the shipping industry to foreign companies is agreed to by;
(ii) whether measures will be taken to stop this opening as informed in a letter by the Ceylon Association of Ships Agencies (CASA) to the responsible officials of the government; and
(iii) of the measures taken to prevent a monopoly of shipping companies coming into effect?
(b) If not, why?
