Hon. Indika Anuruddha Herath,— To ask the Minister of Education,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) of the total number of government schools in the island;
(ii) of the total number of international schools in the island;
(iii) of the number of teachers recruited for national schools in the years of 2015, 2016 and 2017, according to each year;
(iv) of the number of teachers recruited for provincial schools in the years of 2015, 2016 and 2017, according to each year;
(v) of the number of teachers appraised from the external and internal appraisal systems in the first half of year 2016;
(vi) of the amount of money allocated to establish teachers’
quarters / rest rooms in rural and regional schools from the 2016 budget; and
(vii) the present progress of the project?
(b) If not, why?
