Business in the House Today


At the commencement of Public Business, the Hon. Minister of Industrial Development presented a Bill entitled “Chemical Weapons Convention” to provide for the implementation of the Convention on the prohibition of the development, production, stockpiling and use of Chemical Weapons and their destruction and to provide for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.

Under Notice of Motions, Hon. (Ven) Athuraliye Rathana Thero was granted leave by the House to introduce the Bill entitled “Sri Lanka Society for the prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Incorporation)”.

Adjournment Motion on “Cost of living in the country” was moved by the Hon. M. Joseph Michael Perera, Chief Opposition Whip of Parliament.

The House was adjourned at 1630 Hrs.
