Registration of Deaths (Temporary Provisions)
The Hon. Chief Government Whip of Parliament moved the Bill to provide for the Registration of Deaths of persons reported missing as a result of terrorist or subversive activity or civil commotion and of persons whose death is directly attributable to any natural disaster or calamity and such activity, disaster or calamity results in serious consequences at national level; and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.
Community Based Corrections (Amendment)
The Hon. Chief Government Whip of Parliament moved the Bill to change the designation of the Commissioner of Community Based Corrections and to make necessary amendments in other written law as are consequential.
The Hon. R.M. Ranjith Madduma Bandara was granted leave to introduce the Bill, entitled "Kotasara Piyangala Rajamaha Viharastha Development Society (Incorporation)".

Resolution under the Public Security Ordinance
Resolution moved by the Hon. Prime Minister, Minister of Internal Administration and Deputy Minister of Defence, Public Security, Law and Order that the Proclamation made by the President under Section 2 of the Public Security Ordinance (Chapter 40), as amended by Act, No. 8 of 1959, Law No. 6 of 1978, and Act, No. 28 of 1988, bringing into operation the provisions of Part II of the aforesaid Ordinance throughout Sri Lanka with effect from 02nd February 2010, was approved.
The Emergency Motion was passed by Parliament with a majority of 87 votes, extending it for another month. 102 votes were cast in favour of the motion while 15 votes were against it.
Second Reading of the following Bills (appearing as Item Nos. 46 to 50 of today’s Order Paper) were moved by the House and referred to the Standing Committees (Legislative) :-
(i) Deshamanya H.K. Dharmadasa Centre (Incorporation) – Standing Committee "A"
(ii) Sri Piyarathana Community Development and Social Foundation (Incorporation) – Standing Committee "B"
