“Credit Information Bureau of Sri Lanka (Amendment)” Bill to amend the Credit Information Bureau of Sri Lanka Act., No 18 of 1990 was presented by the Hon. Minister of Highways and Road Development and Chief Government Whip on behalf of the Hon.Prime Minister.

Notice of Motions

Leave to Introduce Bills  
Hon. Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe moved with leave of House to introduce the Private Member Bill entitled, “The Council of Muslims of Sri Lanka (Incorporation)” and the Bill was referred to the Minister of Social Services and Social Welfare under Standing Order No. 47(5)

Main Business of the House for Today


  1. The Hon. Minister of Labour Relations and Manpower moved the Bill entitled, “Termination of Employment of Workmen (Special Provisions) (Amendment)”, for Second Reading and it was passed by Parliament with amendments to give effect to amend the period for making an application to the Commissioner of Labour from three months to six months.


  2. The Hon. Minister of Labour Relations and Manpower moved the Bill entitled, “Industrial Disputes (Amendment)” for Second Reading and it was passed by Parliament without amendments to give effect to amend the period for making an application to a Tribunal from three months to six months.


  3. The Hon. Minister of Labour Relations and Manpower moved the Regulations under the Industrial Disputes Act, No 43 of 1950 to revise the fees payable to the members of the Industrial Courts and Arbitrators and the motion was passed by Parliament.
