At the commencement of Public Business, a Privilege motion that the question of alleged
breach of privilege raised by Hon. (Dr.) Mervyn Silva, Minister of Labour on 20th September,
2007 in Parliament regarding the publication of false news items in the “Daily Mirror” and
“Sirasa TV” damaging his reputation, moved by the Hon. Leader of the House of Parliament was referred to the Committee on Privileges under Standing Order 127.
