Problems arisen due to Procument Procedure followed in regard to office new building and Housing Project by the Ministry of Prisons Reforms, Rehabilitation, Resettlement and Hindu Religious Affairs
Presentation of Bills
The Hon. Minister of Parliamentary Reforms and Mass Media moved the Bill entitled
“Right to Information”
to provide for the Right of Access to Information; to specify grounds on which access may be denied; to establish the Right to information commission; to appoint Information Officers; to set out the procedure and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.
Private Members’ Bills
(i) The Hon. Ranjith Aluvihare granted leave to introduce the following Bill, entitled
“M.S. Thowfeek Foundation (incorporation)”
The above Bill was referred to the Minister of Social Empowerment and Welfare for report to Parliament under Standing Order 47 (5).
(ii) The Hon. (Dr.) Ramesh Pathirana was granted leave to introduce the following Bill, entitled
“Poddala-Meepawala Sri Sudarshanarama Viharaya Educational Relief Foundation (incorporation)”
The above Bill was referred to the Minister of Justice and Minister of Buddhasasana for report to Parliament under Standing Order 47 (5).
Adjournment Motion
Continuation of the Adjournment Motion on “Prime Minister's Statement made on 08.03.2016 regarding the current situation of the Economy in the Country” moved by the Hon. Anura Dissanayaka on 23.03.2016.
The Parliament was, thereafter adjourned at 1915 Hrs. until 1300 Hrs. on Tuesday 5th April 2016.
