At commencement of Public Business the Bill entitled “Defence Services Command and Staff College” was presented by Minister of Highways and Road Development and the Chief Government Whip on behalf of the Prime Minister, Minister of Internal Administration, and Deputy Minister of Defense, Public Security, Law and Order, to provide for the establishment of a Defence Services Command and Staff College, to identify the objectives and functions of, and to provide for the management and administration of, the Defence Services Command and Staff College was passed by the House.
The following motions which were presented to the House by the Minister of Highways and Road Development and the Chief Government Whip, on behalf of the Minister of Healthcare and Nutrition and the Leader of the House, were also passed;
• Friday 09th , Monday 12th , Tuesday 13th, Wednesday 14th ,Thursday 15th , Friday 16th and Monday 19th of November, 2007 be allotted day for the consideration of the Appropriation Bill 2008.
• Notwithstanding the provisions of Standing Order 70(2), the hours of sitting on the above allotted days for the consideration of the “Appropriation Bill (2008)” from 09th to 19th November, 2007 to be 09.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and 01.30 p.m. to 06.30 p.m.
• Parliament at its rising this day do adjourn until 09.30 a.m. on Monday, 05th November 2007.
Then Hon. (Mrs.) Nirupama Rajapakse was granted leave by the House to introduce the Private Member Bill, entitled; “Sri Lanka Ayurvedic Indigenous Venom Poison Eradication Society (Incorporation)”
An Adjournment Motion was moved on Tea Industry thereafter by Hon. Chandrasena Wljesinghe.
