Business in the House Today


In today’s Main Business, a Motion moved by Hon. Joseph Michael Perera the Chief Opposition Whip of Parliament to appoint a Select Committee of Parliament to investigate and report allegations of bribery and corruption made in respect of the procurement of MiG 27 Aircraft for the Sri Lanka Air Force from Ukraine, was passed by the House.

Later, the Vote of condolence on the late Hon. K. Vincent Perera MP was taken up in the House.

A motion at Adjournment Time was moved by Hon. Bimal Ratnayake regarding the Removal of kerosene oil subsidy.

The House was adjourned at 1300 Hrs until Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at 0930 Hrs.
