Hon. Anura Dissanayaka, — To ask the Minister of Higher Education and Highways,—
(a) Will he inform this House of,—
(i) the degree courses conducted at present at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura for the students who qualify to enter the University through the Commerce stream at the G.C.E. (Advanced Level ); and
(ii) the total number of students enrolled for the said courses in the academic years 2014/2015 and 2015/2016, separately as per each course?
(b) Will he also inform this House of ,—
(i) the number of students; and
(ii) the Z score and the district rank of the student with the minimum qualification ( as per the course and the academic year);
in relation to the students enrolled from Colombo district out of those enrolled as per (a) (i) above?
(c) Will he further state,-
(i) the methodology of enrolling of students for university degree courses under the category of “Special Skills”, who have excelled in the fields other than studies; and
(ii) the number of students enrolled for each of the courses mentioned in(a) (i) above under the category of “Special intake on Exceptional Abilities/Skills” in the relevant academic years?
(d) If not, why?
