(a) (i) Presently, Ms. Prabhashini Ponnampeuma, an experienced officer in the Grade I of the Sri Lanka Foreign Service is working as the Acting Consul General.
(ii) All Consular Service requirements of the Sri Lankan community living in Milan and the suburbs are duly attended to with the direction and guidance of the Acting Consul General.
(b) Yes.
Nomination for a person expected to be appointed as the new Consul General has been forwarded for the concurrence of the Government of Italy.
(c) Does not arise.
