Hon. Mohan Priyadarshana De Silva,— To ask the Minister of Justice & Prison Reforms,—
(a) Will she inform this House—
(i) of the defendants of case number H.C./4648/2009 (Attorney General’s Number C.R.-2/26/2009) which was heard in the High Courts, Colombo;
(ii) of the charges raised in the Indictment paper; and
(iii) whether all the defendants have been acquitted from the aforesaid indictments?
(b) Will she State—
(i) whether it is stated in the determination that there is a possibility for the Attorney General to amend the accusations for a second time;
(ii) accordingly, whether the defendants are re-filed by the Attorney General having properly amended the accusations;
(iii) if so, the period within which re-filing is done; and
(iv) whether the reasons for the particular decision would be unveiled, if not re-filed thus?
(c) If not, why?
