PARLIAMENT

A delegation of Japanese NPO UNSDGs Human Resource Development Institute met Speaker Hon. Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena in Parliament recently (Aug. 18).

Addressing the delegation, the Speaker recalled the long-standing close relationship between Japan and Sri Lanka in various fields, especially in the Buddhist, cultural and educational sectors. The Speaker also commended Japan's support at a time when the country is facing an economic crisis.

Later, the delegation had the opportunity to ask questions from the Speaker and after that, they engaged in a Parliament tour.

The Secretary General of Parliament Mrs. Kushani Rohanadeera also participated in this event.
