His Excellency Poj Harnpol, Ambassador designated of Thailand to Sri Lanka called on Hon. Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena, Speaker of Parliament recently (May 09) at the Parliament premises.

Whilst engaging in cordial discussions, the parties also discussed regarding the revival of the Sri Lanka Thailand Parliamentary Friendship Association.

His Excellency Poj Harnpol also informed the Hon. Speaker that Thailand is scheduled to commemorate the 96th birthday anniversary of His Honorouble of the 20th Supreme Patriarch His Holiness Somdej Phra Ariyawongsakhatayan of Thailand and has also been in contact with the Maha Sangha in Sri Lanka on the same given that the two nations have a rooted long history and relations in Buddhism.

Secretary General of Parliament Mr. Dhammika Dasanayake was also present at the occasion.
