PARLIAMENT

The Constitutional Council approved the recommendation of the Hon President to re-appoint Mr. C.D Wickeremerathne as the Inspector General of Police for a period of three (03) months with effect from 26.03.2023.

The Constitutional Council met on 01.04.2023 presided by the Hon. Mahinda Yapa Abeywardana, the Speaker and the Chairman of the Constitutional Council.

Prime Minister Hon. Dinesh Gunawardena, Leader of the Opposition in Parliament Hon. Sajith Premadasa, Minister Hon. Nimal Siripala de Silva, MP Hon. Sagara Kariyawasam, MP Hon. Kabir Hashim, Dr. Prathap Ramanujam, Dr. (Mrs) Dilkushi Anula Wijesundere and Dr. (Mrs) Dinesha Samararatne were present in the meeting.
