PARLIAMENT

Department of Serjeant at arms of Parliament of Sri Lanka held a celebratory event recently (Mar. 13), in line with International Women’s Day 2023 centered around the theme of ‘Innovation and technology for gender equality’.

The event was held under the patronage of Serjeant at arms of Parliament of Sri Lanka Mr. Narendra Fernando, Deputy Serjeant at arms Mr. Kushan Jayaratne and Assistant Serjeant at arms Mr. Achintha Cooray and members of ‘Suhada Ekamuthuwa’ of Department of Serjeant at arms were present on the occasion. The services of 35 women officers attached to the Department of Serjeant at arms were appreciated and the service appreciation awards were given to those women officers under the patronage of Serjeant at arms Mr. Narendra Fernando.

Deputy Serjeant at arms Mr. Kushan Jayaratne delivered a vibrant speech on the topic "Work life balance" and Parliamentary Officer Ms. Vimansa Vidurangi presented a briefing on "Embrace Equity".

The ceremony was colorful with the various items presented by the officials.

This is the second time that the Department of Serjeant at arms celebrated such an event in line with International Women's Day.
