PARLIAMENT

A special awareness program has been organized in Parliament on the 12th for nearly a hundred female members representing local government authorities and female civil activists.

The Department of Communication of the Parliament has organized this programme with the aim of improving women's participation and awareness in politics. Paffarel organization has also contributed to this program through coordination.

Accordingly, this program will cover the areas such as Parliamentary affairs, standing orders, Law making process, the role of the member of parliament, and a parliamentary tour has also been organized.

Meanwhile, in line with the International Day of Democracy, the Communication Department of Parliament has organized special programs for a group of youths associated with the Sri Lanka Press Institute (SLPI) on the 15th and for a group of students of the University of Colombo on the 16th.
