PARLIAMENT

The nomination submitted by the Minister of Finance to the Parliamentary Council for the membership of the Welfare Benefits Board has been approved by the Council. Accordingly, the names of Ms. K. H. Jessie Mueller and Mr. K. Dunusinghe had been nominated.

Additionally, The Parliamentary Council decided to nominate to the Hon. President, Mr. A. M. Nahiya for the currently vacant position at the Right to Information Commission.

The Parliamentary Council met in Parliament yesterday (07) under the chairmanship of the Speaker, Hon. Mahinda Yapa Abeywardana, where these decisions were taken. Prime Hon. Dinesh Gunawardena and Minister Hon. Douglas Devananda also attended the meeting.
