Presentation of Bills

(i)    The Hon. Nimal Siripala de Silva, the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation presented the Bill entitled

“Carriage By Air”

to give effect to the convention for the unification of certain rules for International Carriage by Air; and to provide for matters connected therewith and incidental thereto.

(ii)    The Hon. Lakshman Kiriella, the Leader of the House of Parliament presented the Bill entitled

“Institute of Personnel Management, Sri Lanka (Amendment)”

to amend the Institute of Personnel Management, Sri Lanka Law, No. 24 of 1976.


Main Business of the House for Today

Report of the Delimitation Committee for the Delimitation of Electorates in Provincial Councils

Division was taken (No votes in favour; 139 against) and not approved by the House.


Announcement was made by the Speaker on the retirement of the Serjeant-at-Arms and appreciated his service by the Parliament.


The Parliament was, thereafter adjourned at 1930 Hrs. until 1300 Hrs. on Tuesday 4th September 2018.
