Hon. (Dr.) Harsha De Silva, the State Minister of National Policies and Economic Affairs replied to the above Question.


Presentation of Bills

The Hon. Gayantha Karunatileka, the Chief Government Whip presented the following Bills entitled-

(i)    Office for Reparations - to provide for the establishment of the Office for Reparations; to identify aggrieved persons eligible for reparations, and to provide for the provision of individual and collective reparations to such persons; to repeal the Rehabilitation of Persons, Properties and Industries Authority Act, No. 29 of 1987 and to provide for all matters connected therewith or incidental thereto
(ii)    Value Added Tax (Amendment) - to amend the Value Added Tax Act, No.14 of 2002
(iii)    Medical (Amendment) - to amend the Medical Ordinance (Chapter 105)


Ministerial Consultative Committees

House agreed to the Motion moved by the Hon. Lakshman Kiriella, the Leader of the House of Parliament, that notwithstanding the provisions of Standing Order No.112 of Parliament and the resolution adopted by Parliament on 20th June, 2018 the Ministerial Consultative Committees shall consist of nine (09) Members.


Adjournment Motion

Adjournment Motion on “Free Trade Agreement between the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka and the Republic of Singapore” was proposed by the Hon. Dinesh Gunawardena.


The Parliament was, thereafter adjourned at 1928 Hrs. until 1300 Hrs. on Wednesday 18th July 2018.
