Ministerial Statements
Minister of Parliamentary Reforms and Mass Media and Chief Government Whip replied to the Question raised by the Hon. Anura Dissanayaka under Standing Order 23(2) of the Parliament regarding the difficulties faced by the Sailors of the Sri Lanka Navy due to non-availability of a proper promotional procedure and other related issues
Presentation of Bills
The Hon. Gayantha Karunatileka, Minister of Parliamentary Reforms and Mass Media and Chief Government Whip moved the Bill entitled
“National Transport Commission (Amendment)”
to amend the National Transport Commission Act, No.37 of 1991.
Private Members’ Bills
The Hon. M.S. Thowfeek was granted leave to introduce the following Bill, entitled
“Institute of Chartered Corporate Secretaries of Sri Lanka (Incorporation)”
The above Bill was referred to the Minister of Industry and Commerce for report to Parliament under Standing Order 47(5) of the Parliament.
Adjournment Motion
Adjournment Motion on “Sri Lanka’s International Obligations” was proposed by the Hon. Rajavarothiam Sampanthan.
The Parliament was, thereafter adjourned at 1930 Hrs. until 1030 Hrs. on Thursday 23rd February 2017.
