• The Second Instalment – Parts XI and XII, Fifth Instalment- Parts IV and V  of the Report of the Auditor–General for the Financial Year 2014;

under Article 154(6) of the Constitution of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.

Presentation of Bills

The Hon. Lakshman Kiriella, Minister of Higher Education and Highways and the Leader of the House of Parliament moved the Bill entitled

“Universities (Amendment)”

to amend the Universities Act, No. 16 of 1978.


Oversight Committee on International Relations

Draft Statute of the Sabaragamuwa Provincial Tourist Bureau

House agreed to a Motion moved by the Hon. Lakshman Kiriella, Minister of Higher Education and Highways and the Leader of the House of Parliament to grant an extension of time till 09th August, 2016 to submit its report to the Parliament.


Main Business of the House for Today

The following Items (appearing as Item Nos. 1 to 4 of today’s Order Paper) were passed by the House:-

(i) Rules under the Sri Lanka Atomic Energy Act
(ii) Three Regulations under the Imports and Exports (Control) Act


The Parliament was, thereafter adjourned at 1600 Hrs. until 1030 Hrs. on Friday 22nd July 2016.
