Presentation of Bills

The Hon. Chief Government Whip moved the Bill entitled

“Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank Agreement (Ratification)”

to enable Sri Lanka to become a member of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank Authorising the Ratification or Acceptance by Sri Lanka of the Agreement, Establishing that Bank, to which Sri Lanka is a signatory, and to provide for matters connected therewith.


Private Members’ Bills

(i) The Hon. Edward Gunasekara was granted leave to introduce the Bill, entitled

“Vidyawasa Social Service Association Limited (Amendment)”

The above Bill was referred to the Minister of Justice and Minister of Buddhasasana for report to Parliament under Standing Order No. 47 (5) of Parliament.

The Hon. Buddhika Pathirana granted leave to introduce the following Bills, entitled

(ii) “White Rose Foundation (incorporation)”
(iii) “United Christian Fellowship of Sri Lanka (incorporation)”

The above Bills (ii) and (iii) were referred to the Minister of Social Empowerment and Welfare and Minister of Tourism Development and Christian Religious Affairs and Minister of Lands respectively for report to Parliament under Standing Order 47 (5).

(iv) The Hon. Imran Maharoof was granted leave to introduce the Bill, entitled

“Akurana Baithuz Zakth (incorporation)”

The above Bill was referred to the Minister of Post, Postal Services and Muslim Religious Affairs for report to Parliament under Standing Order 47 (5) of Parliament.

was passed by the House.


Motion at the Adjournment Time

Motion at the Adjournment Time on “Development of Drama, Opera and Music culture” was moved by the Hon. Edward Gunasekara.


The Parliament was, thereafter adjourned at 1910 Hrs. until 1030 Hrs. on Thursday 5th May 2016.
