Private Members’ Bills

(i) The Hon. Sirinal de Mel was granted leave to introduce the following Bill, entitled

“Piliyandala Dharmashastrodaya Piriven Viharastha Sanwardhana Sabhawa (incorporation)”

The above Bill was referred to the Minister of Justice and Minister of Buddhasasana for report to Parliament under Standing Order 47 (5).

(ii) The Hon. Ishak Rahuman was granted leave to introduce the following Bill, entitled

“Jamiah Rahmaniya Arabic College, Akurana (incorporation)”

The above Bill was referred to the Minister of Post, Postal Services and Muslim Religious Affairs for report to Parliament under Standing Order 47 (5).


Adjournment Motion

Adjournment Motion on the “Prime Minister's Statement made on 08.03.2016 regarding the current situation of the Economy in the Country” was moved by the Hon. Anura Dissanayaka.


The Parliament was, thereafter adjourned at 1925 Hrs. until 0930 Hrs. on Thursday 24th March 2016.
