Private Members’ Bills

(i) The Hon. Janaka Wakkumbura was granted leave to introduce the Bill, entitled

The above Bill was referred to the Minister of Social Empowerment and Welfare for report to Parliament under Standing Order 47 (5).

The Hon. K. Kader Masthan was granted leave to introduce the following Bills;

(ii) Sri Lanka Hira Foundation (Incorporation)
(iii) Al Manar College (Incorporation)
(iv) Hizbullah Foundation (Incorporation)

The above Bills (ii) and (iv) were referred to the Minister of Social Empowerment and Welfare and Bill (iii) was referred to the Minister of Post, Postal Services and Muslim Affairs for report to Parliament under Standing Order 47 (5).

Appropriation Bill (2016) - Second Reading (Adjourned Debate) (appearing as Item No. 1 of today’s Order Paper)

Today is the Ninth Allotted Day on the Second Reading Debate of the Appropriation Bill (2016).

Second Reading of the Appropriation Bill (2016) was passed by the House. A Division by name of the Hon MPP was taken. 159 were in favour while 52 were against it.

The Appropriation Bill (2016) was referred to the Committee of the whole Parliament.


The Parliament was, thereafter adjourned at 1800 Hrs. until 0930 Hrs. on Thursday 3rd December 2015.
