Presentation of Bills

The Hon. Leader of the House of Parliament moved the Bill entitled

“Appropriation”

to provide for the service of the financial year 2016; to authorize the raising of loans in or outside Sri Lanka, for the purpose of such service; to make financial provision in respect of certain activities of the Government during that financial year; to enable the payment by way of advances out of the Consolidated Fund or any other fund or moneys, of or at the disposal of the Government, of moneys required during that financial year for expenditure on such activities; to provide for the refund of such moneys to the Consolidated Fund and to make provision for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.


Private Members’ Bills

The Hon. Ali Zahir Moulana Seyed was granted leave to introduce the Bill, entitled

“Human Rights Organization (incorporation)”

The above was referred to the Minister of Social Empowerment and Welfare for report to Parliament under Standing Order 47 (5).


Main Business of the House for Today

Select Committee of Parliament to discuss the Heads of Expenditure of the Ministries selected from the Budget Estimates for the year 2016

was passed by the House.


Adjournment Motion

Adjourned debate on the “Resolution passed by the United Nations' Human Rights Commission (UNHRC) in Geneva pertaining to Sri Lanka” moved by the Hon. Ajith Mannapperuma on 22.10.2015 was continued.


The Parliament was, thereafter adjourned at 1830 Hrs. until 1300 Hrs. on Tuesday 3rd November 2015.
