Presentation of Papers by the Speaker
• the First Instalment – Part VIII, IX and X, the Second Instalment – Part XIX, the Sixth Instalment – Part XIII, XIV and XV of the Report of the Auditor–General for the Financial Year 2012; and
• the Second Instalment – Part II and III and the Fourth Instalment – Part III of the Report of the Auditor–General for the Financial Year 2013
under Article 154(6) of the Constitution of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.
Presentation of Reports from the Committees
Reports of the Consultative Committees on;
(i) Coconut Development and Janatha Estate Development
(ii) Health
(iii) Technology and Research
were presented to the Parliament.
Main Business of the House for Today
Nineteenth Amendment to the Constitution Bill
The Second Reading of the Bill was passed by the House after having taken a division by name (215 in favour; 1 against)
The Third Reading of the Bill was passed by the House, with a majority of two-thirds. A Division by name was taken (212 in favour; 01 against; 01 abstain; 10 absent) and the Bill was passed with amendments.
The Parliament was, thereafter adjourned at 2310 Hrs. until 1300 Hrs. on Tuesday 19th May 2015.
