The following announcements were made-

‘A’  : Determination of Supreme Court in regard to the Bill entitled “Nineteenth Amendment to the Constitution”
‘B’  : Meeting of the Committee on Parliamentary Business


Presentation of Papers

Annual Reports of the;

(i) Lanka Logistics and Technologies Ltd. for the year 2011/2012
(ii) State Pharmaceuticals Corporation of Sri Lanka for the year 2012
(iii) Wijaya Kumaratunga Memorial Hospital - Seeduwa for the year 2012

(iv) Supplementary Allocations from the Budgetary Support Services and Contingency Liabilities Project appearing under Expenditure Head No. 240 of the Department of National Budget - 2014 under Section  6(1) of the Appropriation Act, No. 36 of 2013

(v) Order made by the Minister of Justice and Labour Relations under subsection (3) of Section 2 of the Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters Act, No. 25 of 2002 and published in the Gazette Extraordinary No. 1906/17 of 17th March 2015


Presentation of Reports from the Committees

Third Report for the First Session of the Seventh Parliament from the Committee on Public Enterprises was presented to the Parliament.


Presentation of Petitions

Public Petitions were presented by the following Hon. MPP:-

(ii) The Hon. Anura Dissanayaka

Questions under Standing Order 23(2)

The Hon. Anura Dissanayaka

In relation to all allegations levelled against the former Russian Ambassador, Mr Udayanga Weeratunga


Private Members’ Bills

The Hon. Rajiva Wijesinha was granted leave to introduce the two Bills separately

“to amend the Constitution of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka”

The above were referred to the Prime Minister and Minister of Policy Planning, Economic Affairs, Child, Youth and Cultural Affairs for report to Parliament under Standing Order 47 (5).


The Parliament was, thereafter adjourned at 1520 Hrs. until 1330 Hrs. on Friday 10th April 2015.
